Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) Resource Center
Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experiences, strength, and hope to help one another recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking.

Human Services
- Mesa County Department of Human Services: Offers a wide range of programs that help promote safety, stability, and meaningful employment for individuals and families in our area. Be sure to check out the Mesa County Department of Human Services website.
- Low-Income Energy Assistance Program: Mesa County residents can now apply online for the Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP) season. For additional information regarding LEAP benefits, please call the Heat Help Line at 866-432-8435. You may also visit the Colorado LEAP website.

- Veteran Benefits Guide: The Veteran Benefits Guide will explain several VA benefits, especially those that apply to seniors. It includes how to use VA benefits to pay for long-term care needs, the eligibility requirements, and the application process for benefits, so you can determine your options for using those benefits to pay for your health needs.

They include pensions, a civilian income, Social Security (or possible disability income), VA healthcare and tax-advantaged savings. By combining veterans benefits with Social Security income, savings plans and annuities you will be one step closer to handling your future expenses.

- Veterans and Mental Health: Service members who witness traumatic or stressful events during their duty can develop mental conditions. VA disability compensation is available to veterans diagnosed with a mental disorder due to their service.
- Veterans and Drug Addiction: There is a growing concern across the country regarding veterans and drug addiction. Luckily, there are treatment facilities with special programs designed to help.
- Mesothelioma and Veterans: Veterans account for 30% of mesothelioma claims filed annually. Veterans who served in certain military occupations between 1930 and 1980 have a high risk of developing mesothelioma because nearly every branch of the military relied on asbestos. Veterans with mesothelioma can file for VA benefits.
